At Fleet Feet Sports, we do more than just sell shoes. Our goal is to make sure you wear the proper shoes for your unique feet. Wearing the correct shoes for your mechanics can help prevent common injuries and make your running/walking experience more enjoyable.
And don’t worry if you don’t have cookie cutter feet—we have a wide variety of widths and sizes to satisfy just about everyone. We can also accommodate for orthotics or recommend some of the inserts we sell in the store.
In order to make sure you find the perfect pair, we use the following process:
Step One: Getting to Know You
We listen carefully to your needs, take into consideration any aches and pains and evaluate your experience with your current footwear.
Step Two: Measurement
Several measurements of each foot help us determine proper sizing.
Step Three: Gait Analysis
We’ll observe your foot in motion. If you’re comfortable on a treadmill, we’ll take a short video of your feet and watch the video in slow motion to pinpoint any issues. We can also observe you on the floor if you’d rather not use the treadmill. This helps us determine how you move and the biomechanics of your gait.
Step Four: Fitting and Recommendations
Based on our findings, we’ll bring out the shoes that may work best for you. We’ll carefully inspect the fit and watch as you run or walk in each shoe. We’ll discuss the options, provide you with our recommendations and answer any questions.
Step Five: The Decision
Once we determine which shoes are good options for you, it’s up to you to decide which pair works best, and which is more comfortable for you. After all, you’ll be the one wearing the shoes…not us!
Step Six: Ready to Go
Now that you’ve made a decision, we want to make sure that you know we are committed to taking care of your additional or future needs. Plus, if you aren’t satisfied with the shoes, just bring them back, and we’ll try other options. We want everyone to have happy feet!
This process may seem lengthy, but the average fitting from start to finish only takes about 20 minutes. And the best part is that you don’t need an appointment. Just stop by during business hours!

In the fall of 1981, legendary Memphis runners Mike Cody, Jack Rockett, and Bill Craddock were out on a run in their hometown of Memphis when Mike suggested the group open a running store. Back then, running was a mostly male sport. Running clothes were all cotton, and running shoes were hard to come by in Memphis. The group recruited Frank White, Billy Simpson, and current owner Barry Roberson, and the store, then called Breakaway Athletics, was born.
Today, the store has been renamed Breakaway Running, and after many homes – including Bartlett, Tennessee, and, briefly, Oxford, Mississippi – now has two locations, one in Germantown and one in Overton Square in midtown Memphis. We welcome all sizes, shapes, genders, and experience levels, from novice walkers to elite athletes.

Since 1970, Sissy's Log Cabin has been an iconic family owned and operated jewelry store. We pride ourselves on quality and customer service. Our staff of experienced professionals has received numerous awards on both the state and national levels. Sissy's Lob Cabin has evolved into Arkansas's largest independently owned jewelry store with 12,000 square feet of showroom filled with diamonds, jewelry, estate jewelry, fine gifts and fabulous antiques. Sissy's currently has store locations in Pine Bluff, Little Rock, Jonesboro, and Memphis.
The story of Sissy's Log Cabin began on and afternoon in 1970 when Sissy Jones noticed a log cabin that was for sale as she was driving down U.S. Highway 79. Sissy, who is an avid collector of antiques, pulled into the doughnut shop across the street and called the number. She began renting the cabin for $50 a month and stocked it with antiques from her attic and home. The cabin itself was in pretty bad shape, but this did not bother Sissy of her eternal optimism. Soon the word began to spread about he wonderful treasures that could be found at Sissy's Log Cabin.
In 1991, Sissy's business had finally outgrown her original little log cabin. So the day before Thanksgiving, of that year, the entire store's contents were moved from the old log cabin into three newer building. Eventually the old log cabin was torn down to make room from the 12,000 square foot log cabin you see today.
Sissy Jones credits her success to hard work, family, good friends, wonderful customers and of course, the help of a few angels.
Years later, she expanded the store even further, creation a massive 4,000 foot jewelry showcase that became the most popular jewelry store in Arkansas. In 2010, Sissy's decided to expand and open up a store in Little Rock, and 2 years later also opened up a Jonesboro location. In October 2014, Sissy's opened the Memphis, TN location. After all of the years, we hope to gain our customers trust even more. And looking to the future, we hope to pass down the sissy's traditions to our family and continue serving the fine people of Arkansas and Tennessee with all of their fine jewelry needs.
